With the onset of winter we housed the herd in the barns. With plenty of silage and hay they are quite content. This week we have even seen the arrival of 3 calves! Mothers and babies all doing well, 2 heifers and one bull calf.


We currently have a good supply of frozen beef. Free delivery within 10miles and for any box schemes purchases free within 20 miles. For Price list see Nov Blog. Contact us for any specific requests.

Our herd of cows are still grazing outside, being hardy to the weather they may well be outside until Christmas.
Appleton Beef will have a stall at Bedale Christmas Fayre on 5th December in Bedale Hall. Also at Hackforth Village Hall Christnmas Fayre, 6pm 'til 9pm 28th November. Orders currently being taken for Christmas. Please give us a call: 01748 811477 or 07903144351.

We now also participate in 'Shop Local North Yorkshire' and continue to offer free delivery to Leyburn, Bedale and Richmond

Appleton Beef Offers
If you live within 10 miles we will deliver your beef to your door free of charge.

We also can deliver to Leyburn on most Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings.

Other regular free deliveries are to:

Bedale -Tuesday or Friday evenings
Northallerton -Saturdays
Richmond and Catterick Garrison - Monday evenings

Open Farm Sunday




We opened our farm to the public in June. Whilst really wet, we had a great day with a steady stream of visitors. Even our cows joined in the day producing our first calf of the summer!

Our visitors chose the name of "Appleton Luke" for our new arrival.

The Lincoln Reds and our Hampshire Down sheep were on show. Richard also showed visitors our other beef cattle and explained the difference in rearing that makes the Lincoln Red meat so superb. We had displays and gave guests tasters of our beef burgers and sausages.

On the whole a successful day and we look forward to repeating next year, hopefully with a bit more sunshine!
